A Scenic Stop Just Minutes from the Lake House
A short drive up the road from The Lake House on Dale Hollow you’ll find a unique farm tucked into the bend of the winding country road called Tapestry Acres. You’ll find plenty of hay bails and cows grazing in the Upper Cumberland hills, but Tapestry Acres is different.
Say Hello to Alpacas, Highland Cows, and More
Long necks stretch skyward as your first glimpse onto the farm are the dozens of male Alpacas leisurely grazing out front. The Highland Cows, with their fashion-forward shaggy hair, might also look up to watch you drive by. The farm is a treasure trove of unique animals, including Kune Kune & Berkshire pigs, Nigerian Dwarf goats, mini donkeys and chickens.
Alpaca Style: Who Wore it Best?

Shop Local: Handcrafted Alpaca Wool Goods
What can you expect from a visit to Tapestry Acres? Browse the gift shop for one-of-a-kind, unique souvenirs. Many of the items, such as ultra-soft socks and blankets are made right on the farm from Alpaca wool. Walk the trails to get up close to all the different animals, some of them even new babies. When we were visiting, the absolutely adorable two new Highland Calves had just celebrated their one month birthday.
Paw-sitively Welcoming: Farm Dogs & Cats
The feel of the farm is friendly, relaxed and laid back. We were warmly greeted by large white dogs and tabby cats, who were more than happy to receive pets and attention.
Family-Owned and Full of Heart
The owners, a multi-generational family, are very welcoming and happy to share information about the animals and farm-life. We learned, for example, that Alpacas are induced ovulators, meaning they can get pregnant at any time. Male and female Alpacas are kept separate to prevent an Alpaca takeover!

More Than a Farm: Events and Glamping Adventures
As if having a farm specializing in fun, friendly, unique animals wasn’t enough, Tapestry Acres will be offering private parties and events. Creative on-site accommodations such as yurts and glamping cabins are also available.
